Josh, Alex, and I toured the museum for a couple of hours in the afternoon. The boys' favorite exhibit was of one of the earliest trains. It was a huge train that we could climb up into and move a lot of the different gears and levers. Their second most favorite exhibit might have been the "build your own paper airplane" activity. We folded pieces of paper into airplanes and then tested them in a special range protected by nets. The boys also enjoyed sitting in the airliner simulation.

Riding Thomas
After a little bit of a wait in line, Thomas the Train finally pulled up to the station. We climbed onto the last car. Soon, the conductor announced that we were ready to depart and Thomas pulled away from the station. We enjoyed listening to Thomas the Train music while we checked out the sights around Greenfield Village.

There weren't any lines at the Carousel so we made a bee line over there and hopped on for a ride. Most of the kids picked an animal that went up and down, but Josh, Alex, Allyson, and I road in a sleigh.
Model Trains
We ran ahead of schedule during our trip to Greenfield Village, so we had some extra time to spend with the kids in the Model Train rooms. The kids watched the battery-operated Thomas the Train toys run around the tracks, played with wooden trains, and climbed onto a Train made completely out of Legos. After a few minutes, we gathered up the kids and headed over to the Train Depot so we could get in line to board Thomas the Train.
Arrival
We arrived at Greenfield Village at around nine thirty. Terry lead us right to the parking lot between the restaurant and the Train Depot. Since my in-laws are members we didn't have to go through the Main Entrance and were saved a trip by foot.

Departure
We were planning on leaving at 7 a.m. in the morning, but didn't get on the road until 8 a.m. My father-in-law tried to fuel up his jeep and then come back, but he couldn't because the gas station wasn't even opened yet.
When we left my in-law's house, Susan was driving her vehicle and my father-in-law Terry drove his jeep. Terry, Nancy (mother-in-law), Allyson and I were in the Jeep. Theresa, Kayla, Alex, Josh, Mea, and (of course) Susan were in Susan's vehicle.
